DataSoft to upgrade CTMS Data Center

CTMS (Container Terminal Management System) is one of the most complex and successful solutions DataSoft has ever formed. However, any infrastructure the solution is hosted upon no matter how robust is initially made, requires continuous improvement and upgradation over time as Database size increases every minute the solution runs. Also databases require backup and disaster recovery (DR) servers in places as well to ensure the security and retrieval in case the primary database fails. CTMS is no exception to this. Since it has been running for a long time the following challenges were being faced.
- Storage issue: The database is almost 4 times in size (with 10 years of operational data)
- Network issue: Data transaction is 5 times of the old ones and had delays due to older network devices and low bandwidth
- Backup issue: The data center that was initially planned to be considered as the DR server was hardware wise inadequate.
DataSoft has successfully overcome these shortcomings by
- Upgrading 3 DataCenters (Improved performance by replacing old hardware with new ones)
- CCT DataCenter (Primary)
- PAB DataCenter (DR)
- Established FOC (Fiber Optic Connectivity) between the data centers
