The training of the first batch of Datasoft Internet of Things (IoT) titled ‘IoT Army of 300’ has been completed. Students coming from different universities has been trained to contribute to the socio-economic development of the people with the technology-base smart solutions. The certificate giving ceremony of the trainees was held at the Krishibid Institute in the capital on Monday. Honorable State Minister Zunaid Ahmed Palak , ICT division handed over the certificates yesterday to the first batch of graduates of the state-of-the-art lab at a ceremony at Krishibid Institution Bangladesh in Dhaka. Managing Director of Datasoft Systems Bangladesh Limited, Mahboob Zaman greeted honorable guests with his welcome speech. As Special guests Project Director of Hi-Tech Park Shafiqul Islam, Project Director of Leveraging ICT Rezaul Karim, Pro VC of University of Liberal Arts M Zahirul Haque, The Daily Star Editor and Publisher and IT enthusiast Mr. Mahfuz Anam, Innovation Director of A2i, Mr. Mustafizur Rahman, Head of News of ATN News Munni Saha were also present. Dr. Michael Wang, Professor, Columbia University, the Master Trainer for the DataSoft IOT program joined the program through video conference. University of Liberal Arts and DataSoft have collaborated to manage the IoT Lab — IoT Army of 300 — where about 300 engineers will be trained in several four-month courses on IoT systems. Hi-Tech Park and the ICT division are financiers of the project.. The ongoing project of IoT Lab includes automatic water meter screening system to check, water vessel protection system, internet of things medicine system, anti-theft system for vehicles, smart city transportation system, vehicles monitoring system, detecting river pollution, resisting fire at garments and other factories, smart gas detection system, smart lamppost system, and smart waste management system.
